Description

This online event will be facilitated by specialist, Dianne Robinson and will feature Dr Georgie Ford of Weston College who will explore the mechanisms of exam anxiety as a holistic process focussing briefly on the origins of anxiety with exams as a conditioned stimulus response.

The session will then move to predominantly focus on exam results delivery and the mechanisms of emotionally challenging conversations before concluding with an interactive exploration into the social identity of young people in a new educational life-phase; the start of a new term.

There will also be a presentation from Donna Underwood, Curriculum Manager - English, The Grimsby Institute.

“Two things remain irretrievable: time and a first impression” Cynthia Ozick

The first six weeks of a learner’s journey in further education could be make or break as to whether they succeed and progress. The last six weeks is just as critical.

We will be looking at how to effectively engage learners studying the GCSE English Language resit in the first six weeks of study and how to keep that engagement and drive in the six weeks running up to the exams.

The network will conclude with an open forum where you will be able to pose your questions for discussion and put forward ideas for topics for the next network.
