Description

In December 2022, the Office of National Statistics released a report stating there are over a million job vacancies across the United Kingdom. As organisations struggle to fill roles and meet skill needs, apprenticeships and work-based learning have become more important than ever.

While participation in apprenticeships is rising across the country, there is still much work to be done to meet the needs of the workforce. Through sharing best practice, colleges and training providers can build upon existing successes and develop new strategies to provide high-quality apprenticeship programmes.

• In 2022, participation in apprenticeships by those over the age of 19 increased by 3.3% according to the Department of Education
• As of September 2022, over 800 different apprenticeships were available across England, as shown by a research briefing from the House of Commons
• The number of people from disadvantaged backgrounds starting apprenticeships has declined significantly over the past decade, according to The National Foundation for Educational Research
• 85% of business expect to have a shortage in critical skills in the next five years according, while 41% expect to have these shortages in the next year, according to research done by PWC.

This online conference will provide delegates with the latest updates, guidance, and recommendations for apprenticeships across the UK. Engage with a series of best practice case studies on supporting disadvantaged students, developing new apprenticeship programmes, and engaging with employers. You will also have the opportunity to network with senior colleagues from across sectors to discuss challenges you have faced in delivering high-quality apprenticeships through partnership working.

Why attend:
• Hear high-level keynotes on the latest updates on apprenticeship funding and strategies for addressing gaps in the local workforce
• Gain practical insights into engaging with students from all backgrounds and boosting recruitment
• Engage with senior colleagues from across the sector to discuss strategies for working in partnership to develop and deliver high-quality apprenticeships
• Gain 8 hours of CPD points towards your yearly quota.
