Description

Last year Education Datalab reported that just 1 in 7 pupils would achieve the core performance measure, made up of eight GCSE qualifications by 2018. Following this, the government moved to adjust targets for English Baccalaureate (EBacc) participation from 90% of pupils taking EBacc subjects by 2020 to 75 per cent by “by the end of the next Parliament”, with 90% of pupils by 2025.

At this forum, delegates discuss the different opportunities and obstacles associated with attainment and recruitment when reshaping school curricula to fit within EBacc specifications, and hear best practice examples of schools that have made significant progress with this endeavour.

Speakers will include Paul Steer, Head of Policy for OCR (Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations); Emma Armitage, of the CERP Team, AQA; and senior representatives from the Department for Education.
