Successfully Teaching the Mathematics A-Level Curriculum
Countdown to Start Date
Event Details
Description
Reforms to the mathematics A-Level curriculum have radically changed the way pupils are taught and assessed, with the introduction of a new linear structure and emphasis on problem solving, reasoning and modelling.
Following the first teaching on the new A-Levels in mathematics in September, this forum is timed to reflect on the first term of teaching and helps you fully understand the changes to assessment, content and course objectives.
Attendees will leave with the skills and confidence to successfully plan engaging mathematics lessons, prepare students for assessments and adapt to the new qualifications.
Key speakers include Sue Pope, Academic Division Lead for STEM Education, Manchester Metropolitan University; Paul Glaister, Professor of Mathematics and Mathematics Education, University of Reading; and Steven Walker,
Maths Subject Specialist, Oxford, Cambridge and RSA (OCR).
