Description

Hosted by Julie Revels, this webinar will focus on the importance of early identification of children’s needs.

The event will consider a whole setting approach to inclusive practice, which involves every practitioner, with support of the SENCO and optimizing the use of the Graduated approach to support the setting to effectively meet the identified needs as they emerge:
• To understand the importance of a whole setting approach to early identification
• To consider the key elements of the Graduated approach including working with parents and other professionals and monitoring and recording the actions and impact of these actions on the outcomes for children
• To be aware of the use of Universal, Targeted and specialist support and approaches and how to access these
• To reinforce the importance of understanding early childhood development and sources of useful information
• Every practitioner to understand their roles in early identification
• To be able to use the Graduated approach as part of the whole setting approach
• To be more confident in accessing the appropriate level of support for individual children, including specialist support
• To use and extend the knowledge of early childhood development to support practice.
