Description
This event is the latest in unionlearn’s series of regular English and maths network events. They are open to union reps and project workers and others who are interested in policy and support for English and maths learning in trade unions.
English and maths is one of the priority areas for union learning and unions have a great track record in engaging and supporting learners in the workplace. These events are geared up for discussing policy updates, trade union literacy and numeracy learning offers and sharing good practice.
A number of guest speakers will be featured including the following sessions:
• Supporting English with reading for pleasure – Genevieve Clarke, Reading Agency
• What a difference a maths lesson makes – Beth Kelly, UCL Institute of Education
• Supporting ESOL learning in the workplace, Clair Hawkins, UNISON
• Unite supporting ESOL, Catherine Whittaker and Orlando Martins, Unite the union
