This exciting one day workshop is the starting point for those planning and undertaking their Income Generation journey. The first part of the day will explore how to utilise the School Development Plan and the impact of communicating a strong vision and the importance that goals have on successful fundraising. Delegates will compare different income streams that their organisation can exploit and use case studies to give real-life examples and inspiration.

The second half of the day will focus on the art of school grant writing. Delegates will be coached through developing a project narrative for items needed which can save lots of time when completing grant applications to raise funds for school projects.

Aims of this course:
• Understand the concept of positioning the school’s vision, goals, projects and activities to parents, local community and businesses so they feel compelled to support the schools aspirations
• Explore the key elements that make Income Generation activities financially successful and begin to start forecasting against the total value of money required
• Learn the most important aspects of efficiently applying for grants and how a project narrative can help optimise the information gathered from others.

Objectives of this course:
• Analyse readiness to engage with Income Generation and begin to explore the justification for a change in the way the school manages becoming financially resilient
• Practice converting items/wants into fundable projects/needs and use this to write a Project Narrative that will help communicate the justification and purpose of projects to Grant Donors
• Experience the “donor’s perspective” and practice aligning project’s goals with those of the awarding Grant Donor.
