EdCentral is part of On Tap News Services (OTNS) the not-for-profit organisation which has been disseminating education news via its Daily Education News Digest for the past five years.

In order to build on the success of the news service, OTNS has partnered with Patrick Watson, research specialist and expert education policy advisor. As part of his historical service to clients, Patrick monitors education research to help inform best practice and support professional development.

About the service

EdCentral is a fully-searchable portal of educational research, news and events.

Quality research plays an important part in informing educationalists, improving classroom practice, and supporting the professional development of teachers. However, because it originates from disparate sources, historically there has been no easy way to access it or even to find information about what is available.

The same is true for research-orientated events; and while education news is easier to access, it can be time consuming for those wishing to gain a broad perspective across a wide range of news sources.

EdCentral solves these issues by acting as a central, fully searchable repository for general education news and education research and events –providing easy access to latest evidence, fresh perspectives and inspired concepts.

The service will launch in early 2016.

About the trial

If you are reading this, you have been selected to participate in a trial of the research service and events calendar –providing feedback in return for a 12 month free subscription to the full service when it launches in the New Year.

The trial will take place over an eight-week period between 1st October 2015 and 30th November 2015. You’ll find over 125 pieces of leading research to browse and we’re adding to this on a daily basis.

You can send us comments and suggestions at anytime by using the YourFeedback form. In November we’ll also send you a questionnaire to gather your thoughts on different elements of the service.
