Description

Youth unemployment in the UK remains a pressing challenge. While the overall unemployment rate stands at 4.5%, the rate among young people is significantly higher at 14.5%. Currently, 946,000 young people aged 16 to 24 are not in education, employment, or training (NEET).

In response, the Government has introduced a new Youth Guarantee to ensure that every 18 to 21-year-old in England can access education, training, or support to secure a job or apprenticeship.

This one day online conference offers a timely platform for stakeholders across government, education, employment, and skills sectors to explore solutions and set future priorities. Delegates will gain insight into key national initiatives such as the Youth Employability Programme, Youth Hubs, and Youth Trailblazers, all aimed at reducing economic inactivity among young people.

Join us to discover how local areas are delivering impactful interventions through collaboration with education and training providers, enhanced access to mental health services, and improved careers advice and work experience opportunities. Learn about the development of local transition plans for young people at risk of disengagement.

We will also examine the role of the newly launched Skills England in addressing regional skills shortages and supporting employers to expand opportunities through apprenticeships, vocational training, and work placements.

This event is an important opportunity to connect with peers, share practical approaches, and take away strategies to improve outcomes for young people in your community.

Why attend:
• Hear the latest policy updates and support measures available to help tackle youth unemployment
• Engage with a range of case studies demonstrating best practice approaches to support young people transitioning from education to employment
• Network with senior colleagues from across the public and voluntary sectors
• 8 hours’ worth of CPD points towards your yearly quota.
