Description
This online session supports primary teachers to build confidence and clarity in teaching about Sikhi. It includes a clear subject-knowledge overview, ready-to-use lesson ideas, insights from a Sikh guest speaker sharing lived experience, and four sample lesson sequences. Participants receive a free curriculum book with practical resources, and the session ends with a Q&A to deepen understanding and support confident classroom practice.
This engaging RE CPD session is designed to support primary teachers in developing both confidence and clarity when teaching about Sikhi. The course will open with a concise subject-knowledge overview to ensure teachers feel secure in key concepts of Sikhi before exploring a set of ready-to–to-use lesson ideas.
To deepen authenticity and understanding, a Sikh guest speaker will share his lived experience, offering personal reflections and perspectives on the key questions addressed in the lessons. Teachers will have the opportunity to explore four sample lesson sequences that follow this format – building knowledge, applying it through enquiry, and hearing a real voice from within the Sikh community.
All participants will also receive a free curriculum book containing lesson ideas, supporting materials, and practical classroom resources to make implementation easy and immediate.
The session concludes with an open Q&A, giving teachers the chance to develop subject knowledge further, clarify misconceptions, and feel fully equipped to bring Sikhi confidently and respectfully into the classroom.
