This annual one day in-person conference provides an important opportunity for college leaders, governors, managers key partners and stakeholders to discuss and debate what more can colleges do to make a positive and sustainable impact on climate change.

Government and DFE recognise that colleges have a crucial and pivotal role as catalysts for innovation, supporting employers and preparing students for a low carbon economy, we now need to ensure that government invests in colleges so they can play their part. There has been significant progress in the FE sector since COP26 with most colleges adapting their strategic plans to reduce emissions, reduce energy and be leaders for change and also playing a leading role by in developing Green skills - but “what next”?

The aim of the 2023 conference is that all delegates and colleges, regardless of where they are on their net zero journey, will be able to take away realistic, manageable, and achievable ideas that will enhance their own plans and enhance the work of their college as we move towards 2030.
