The Higher Education Marketing Conference 2023
Countdown to Reservations End Date
Event Details
Description
The restrictions caused by the pandemic meant that universities have had to reinvent the way they marketed courses to potential students. In addition, both the pandemic and Brexit have drastically changed the global student market with international applications reducing between 2020 to 2021 according to data from UCAS. Universities are slowly returning to in-person open days while maintaining some of the digital marketing that has proved so effective over the last few years. As the current landscape of student marketing continues to evolve, it is important that higher education marketing professionals come together to discuss the trends in student recruitment and share ideas on how to adapt marketing campaigns to ever-changing conditions.
• There were almost 750,000 university applications submitted through UCAS in 2021 with 562,000 applications being accepted
• UK universities spend a yearly average of £2,690 per student on marketing according to data obtained through a Freedom of Information Request
• There was a 40% drop in applications from EU students from 2020 to 2021 following the UK’s exit from the EU according to figures released by UCAS.
