Description
Join AoC and WorldSkills UK for this online launch of the report: Ingredients to success: what can we learn about embedding excellence in teaching, learning and assessment for young people studying technical and vocational skills at levels 3-5?
The report presents an exploration of excellent practice in teaching, learning and assessment (TLA) at Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) Levels 3-5 (Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework – SCQF - Levels 6-8) for 16-24 year-olds in the further education (FE) and skills sector in the United Kingdom.
It has been commissioned by WorldSkills UK to reflect on the success of their pilot Centre of Excellence Programme and importantly to help inform how this programme should evolve over the next three years.
It seeks to uncover the ingredients that help institutions successfully embed excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, by exploring three areas:
1. The conditions that help embed excellence in teaching, learning and assessment for young people studying technical and vocational skills at levels 3-5 (and the Scottish equivalent).
2. Major barriers to embedding excellence for teaching, learning and assessment in technical and vocational skills.
3. The mechanisms, other than WorldSkills UK’s programmes, that are in place to embed excellence for teaching, learning and assessment in technical and vocational skills and how WorldSkills UK might incorporate these in its programmes.
The findings will be presented by two members of the research team: Emma Meredith, Director of Global Engagement, Interim Director of Skills Policy and Julia Belgutay, Senior Policy Manager, Research and Evidence, Association of Colleges. This will be followed by a panel who will discuss their views on the report and end with Q&A.
