Event Details
Description
The 2022 update to the NHS Mental Health Report found that the rate of children with a probable mental health disorder rose by 8% since 2020. Providing holistic early intervention and crisis support is vital for helping these children and young people (CYP) avoid harm and longer-term problems into adulthood. Partners across the public and voluntary sectors are striving to meet the growing demand through joined-up working to share resources and develop innovative strategies for wrap-around support. However, with many children still at risk, continued guidance and shared best practice across the sector will enable greater access to services and improved outcomes in CYP mental health.
• More than 60% of CYP with diagnosable mental health conditions do not currently receive NHS care (NHS England, 2022)
• The Children’s Commissioner 2021 Big Ask Survey found that 20% of 9-17 year olds were unhappy with their mental health
• The 2022 CYMPHS Workforce Census showed a 46% increase in staffing since 2019.
Join us at this one day online conference to hear the latest tips and guidance in supporting CYP mental health and wellbeing. High-level keynotes will provide strategic insight into delivering high-quality care and intervention, followed by a range of best practice case studies across NHS and local government.
