Early Career Teachers and EAL

Event Details
Description
Nearly one in five learners in England today are multilingual, yet a recent report from the Department for Education (DfE), "Working lives of teachers and leaders" (April 2023), found that early career teachers felt least prepared to teach in multilingual classrooms compared to all other training areas.
With this in mind, The Bell Foundation is excited to launch a new series of freely available self-study training modules for early career teachers (ECTs) and ECT mentors. The new modules, which align to the standards of the Early Career Framework, are designed to support ECTs to learn and apply distinct multilingual approaches that promote learning and opportunities for all pupils using EAL.
This webinar will give an overview of the new modules, exploring how they can be most effectively used by both teachers and mentors.
The modules will be launched in the webinar, or you can sign up to the newsletter to receive them in your inbox.
Areas of focus will include:
• An overview of the modules
• A taster of the content
• Information on how to access the modules
• Opportunities for questions.
