National Apprenticeships Conference 2024
Countdown to Reservations End Date
Event Details
Description
In December 2022, the Office of National Statistics released a report stating there are over a million job vacancies across the United Kingdom. As organisations struggle to fill roles and meet skill needs, apprenticeships and work-based learning have become more important than ever. While participation in apprenticeships is rising across the country, there is still much work to be done to meet the needs of the workforce. Through sharing best practice, colleges and training providers can build upon existing successes and develop new strategies to provide high-quality apprenticeship programmes.
• In 2022, participation in apprenticeships by those over the age of 19 increased by 3.3% according to the Department of Education
• As of September 2022, over 800 different apprenticeships were available across England, as shown by a research briefing from the House of Commons
• The number of people from disadvantaged backgrounds starting apprenticeships has declined significantly over the past decade, according to The National Foundation for Educational Research
• 85% of business expect to have a shortage in critical skills in the next five years according, while 41% expect to have these shortages in the next year, according to research done by PWC.
This one day online conference will allow delegates to hear the latest updates, guidance, and recommendations for apprenticeships across the UK.
