The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) is responsible for the development and delivery of the national curriculum tests (commonly known as SATs). During this webinar members of the STA will explain the test development and standards maintenance process, detailing the considerations and constraints leading to test construction and the setting of threshold scores.

STA will explain the national curriculum test development process starting with the specification set out in the test frameworks, through to the methods for standards maintenance after the tests have been administered.

They will explain qualitative and quantitative evidence collated throughout the three-year development cycle and how the validity, reliability and fair access are paramount. They will also take questions from participants on any aspect of the process.
