Event Details
Description
Join us for this one day in-person conference where our superb programme of speakers will present fresh initiatives and approaches to help you make a difference to the lives of children and young people.
The event will have a strong focus on improving outcomes for children and young people who are faced with barriers beyond their control, including socio-economic factors and SEND.
Our speakers include national experts and experienced, practising leaders of literacy who will share their knowledge with you alongside up-to-date research to support and underpin the strategic leadership of literacy. Delegates will be inspired by children's author James Campbell, and by organisations that can help drive strategies in your school as well as identifying where to target intervention and why this makes a difference.
Key outcomes:
• Up-to-date knowledge and research data on literacy and reading that will help understand the ‘why’ to help you strive for improved outcomes in your own setting.
• Hear from practising leaders of literacy on how a range of strategies are working in other schools – and know where to start if you are new to leading literacy across a whole school or trust.
• Identify where to access support, materials and resources that will help you to deliver a more effective literacy programme, especially when considering how to improve outcomes for disadvantaged children and young people.
• Feel inspired to drive whole-school literacy, getting everyone on board because they understand how literacy and reading supports all areas of the curriculum.
• Feel empowered as a leader of literacy in being able to assess what is working and not working in your own setting.
