This 'live briefing' webinar is designed for governors and trustees of any school or college with ASCL members, who are also welcome to join.

The session will help explain this year’s results, consider how to compare results over time, and look ahead to future changes.

The webinar will cover:
• the headline results from GCSEs, A levels and vocational and technical qualifications (VTQs)
• a reminder of the changes that were in place in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and whether it is possible to compare data between these years
• how grades were determined this summer, as in pre-pandemic years
• what to look out for as a governor or trustee when looking at the data, and how to interpret it
• how to make sense of improvement over time
• when the DfE official performance measures will be released
• how the DfE and Ofsted have said they will use 2024 data, including new changes to Ofsted ungraded inspections
• what changes to expect in the coming months and years.
