HEPI / Taylor & Francis roundtable dinner
Countdown to Reservations End Date

Event Details
Description
This roundtable dinner, which builds on previous work by HEPI / Taylor & Francis, will consider the ways in which AI can advance translational research by overcoming barriers faced by traditional research methods.
The dinner will bring together a mix of colleagues from across the higher education sector, including senior university leaders and policymakers and will be chaired by HEPI Director of Policy and Advocacy, Rose Stephenson, under the Chatham House Rule.
Questions we expect to explore:
• In what ways can AI enhance collaboration across disciplines, including medicine, engineering and the social sciences?
• What are the barriers and risks to increasing the use of AI in translational research?
• What systems must be in place to enable interdisciplinary researchers to use AI effectively and ethically?
• How do we ensure AI tools are free from bias?
• What role should both academic leadership and publishers play in shaping ethical, inclusive and innovative uses of AI in interdisciplinary translational research?
