Description
Managers play a vital role in supporting staff wellbeing and creating a healthy workplace culture. This one day in-person training session helps managers understand what mental health means and why it is so important at work. Participants will learn to spot early signs of stress or poor well-being in their teams and gain practical strategies for starting supportive conversations with staff when issues arise.
Building a trusting, safe, and open environment is a core focus, with guidance on fostering psychological safety and encouraging honest communication. Managers will discover practical tools—such as wellness action plans—to actively support wellbeing, make sensible workload adjustments, and promote a healthy work-life balance in their teams. The programme also covers how to build resilience, care for their mental health, and be effective role models for others.
Managers will leave this training empowered to handle difficult events with compassion, manage workplace conflict, and know when and how to direct staff to further sources of help. By developing these skills, managers can create more resilient, supportive, and successful teams, leading to improved morale and performance across the organisation.
