Description

The PIE’s Kim Martin is delighted to be joined by Aparna Jacob, Director of Studies for Academic English Programs at UNSW College for an in-depth discussion on the lessons learned in English language teaching in the wake of the pandemic.

In addition to overseeing ELICOS and Foundation and Diploma Academic English pathway programs at UNSW College, Aparna has served as a director on the Board of English Australia since 2016 and has a comprehensive understanding of the sector as well as the key issues in the post-pandemic landscape we find ourselves in.

In 2019, institutions across the world were forced to rethink how to best serve English learners. At UNSW College, some of these adjustments resulted in major changes to the way English programs are delivered - with transforming results.

In this 30 minute fireside chat, Aparna will discuss the importance of creating an interactive and engaging environment for students to learn in while adapting innovative technology.

And as the number of students learning English on UNSW College campus increases, Aparna is keen to reflect on what the future holds for English language study in a destination country.
