Description

The digital world continues to develop at an astonishing pace. It provides children and young people with ever-expanding opportunities for learning and discovery - as well as new and increasing risks to their safety and wellbeing. Safeguarding today requires all practitioners to be up to speed with emerging digital trends and threats.

This two day online conference will takes place in the afternoons of Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th January 2024.

We have secured some of the country’s leading experts and practitioners to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to enable children and young people to stay safe in 2024 and beyond.

Through a number of CPD-accredited sessions, our speakers will provide you with actionable insights and top tips to implement in your work, from immersive technology to the risks presented by generative AI; and from nude image-sharing to the practical implications of the Online Safety Act.

The online conference will feature sessions on:
• Key developments including generative AI
• How all practitioners can build digital resilience
• Nude image-sharing and what it means for young people’s wellbeing
• Working with children who display online harmful sexual behaviour
• Mitigating the risks of immersive technology such as virtual reality and augmented reality
• Protecting young people against the threat of extremism and online radicalisation
• Understanding online self-harm
• Managing risk and trauma after online sexual offending by a parent
• Responding to young people with gaming disorder
• Co-designing digital solutions with children and young people
• Next steps from the Online Safety Act
• How professionals can use social media safely, and how to develop a robust social media policy for staff.
