This one-day symposium is jointly organised by the PGR/ECR networks of BERA and SERA and is supported by the BERA Research Methodology in Education SIG. It seeks to bring together postgraduate research students (PGRs) and early career researchers (ECRs) in education to explore and discuss methodological innovation and creativity in educational research. It will tackle the following questions: Who determines what is and isn’t creative/innovative? Is methodological innovation positioned as being key to pushing forward the impact of social research? Are they anything new – or have we always been creative/innovative in research?

Keynote speakers include Dr. Katherine Wimpenny, Dr. Dawn Mannay, and Professor Chris Brown.
