Countdown to Reservations End Date
Event Details
Description
Students across the world are identifying the climate emergency as the main issue facing society today, urging immediate collaborative action at scale and pace. This year, AoC’s second Climate Change, Sustainability and Green Skills Conference will bring together key speakers from across the college sector to share their expertise and offer space to discuss how to further embed sustainability throughout colleges and drive the green economy forward.
Colleges are working hard to hit net zero and strengthen resilience in their estates, so leading sector practitioners, including Principals and Chairs, will share their experience of adopting and adapting the FE Roadmap.
Inspiring environmental awareness and sustainable behaviour change is something that colleges can be to achieve great impact. Delegates will hear from early adopters of the very successful pilot FE Carbon Literacy Project course and will explore what more can, and must, be done to generate the curriculum our learners are demanding and will need in the future.
Delivering green skills and green jobs is high on the agenda of colleges and the governments, both nationally and locally. Key AoC staff will provide support and advice, reflecting on the core outcomes of COP26 and what that means for planning skills provision.
Delegates will hear speakers from AoC’s key Green Thread partners including FE/HE Climate Commission, EAUC, Ashden, CLP, WWF, UCU, ETF, NUS/SOS.
