Event Details
Description
During this online event, Professor Jenny Pickerill will explore what it means to become intimately involved in activist projects as an academic researcher.
After briefly outlining what participatory activist research is, Jenny will explore what it means to become intimately involved in activist projects as an academic researcher.
Jenny will also reflect on the need for transparency, accountability and a pragmatism in navigating the multiple demands of a neo-liberal academy, activist temporalities, and personal emotions and politics in her work in community environmentalism.
This event will be particularly useful for those interested in practice as research, practitioner research, activist researchers and geography
The seminar is part of this series which aims to bring together the many different strands of practice-led/based research across all disciplines so as to not be limited by disciplinary conventions, but instead to benefit from cross-disciplinary fertilisation.
