Description
Join this online event to hear Professor Camilla Gilmore assess the range of factors that are involved in or influence the development of numeracy skills.
Numeracy skills begin to develop in the preschool years when children build the foundations needed for later mathematics learning. However, the development of early number understanding is surprisingly complex.
In this event, Camilla will discuss research that explores the role of children’s cognitive skills, their interests and environments on early numeracy development and consider the implications of this research for providing young children with the best resources and activities to help them learn.
This event will be particularly useful for those interested in mathematics development and the teaching of mathematics in the early years.
