This online training will provide an introduction to oracy with a clear focus on using pupil speak to enhance understanding of Tier 3 subject-specific vocabulary in context and skills needed for strong verbal reasoning, dialogue and debate.

This training builds on the findings and recommendations of the oracy Education Commission’s recent report We Need To Talk.

• Understand the pedagogy and theory behind the importance of oracy in education.
• Understand how good oracy in RE can impact on written outcomes in RE and other subjects.
• Ready-to-use ideas for improving the understanding and use of vocabulary though oracy.
• Ready-to-use ideas for improving reasoning and debating skills though oracy.
• Examples of good practice for EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

You will also receive materials for use in schools to support the development or oracy to enhance vocabulary use and reasoning skills.
