Event Details
Description
Safeguarding Digest is a new best practice network aimed at supporting school safeguarding professionals, including designated safeguarding leads.
Created by SecEd and Headteacher Update, the Safeguarding Digest platform is available to access via web or app with a free trial running until the end of September 2025. The trial will include free access to the inaugural Safeguarding Digest Masterclass, which will take place online from 4pm to 5pm on Wednesday, September 24.
In the masterclass, Pete Henshaw, editor of Safeguarding Digest, and safeguarding consultant Elizabeth Rose, founder of So Safeguarding and a former DSL, will offer practical tips and insights for how DSLs can ‘get ahead for the year’, with key actions school safeguarding teams should be taking right now to set strong foundations for the academic year ahead of us.
We will consider annual actions that should be part of annual good safeguarding practice in the autumn term, as well as specific priorities and trends for this year.
The masterclass will include insight and practical tips to help you ensure all school staff are compliant with the updates to Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 statutory guidance. We will also touch upon the safeguarding implications of the updated RSHE guidance and the current provisions in the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
Safeguarding Digest members will also be able to ask their own questions of Elizabeth during an extensive Q&A.
