Description
How can we diminish the impact of disadvantage for our poorest pupils and their families? What has been shown to work? What does the research evidence tell us? What is working on the ground in schools across the country?
This one day in-person conference is suitable for anyone involved in the planning and delivery of Pupil Premium work in primary or secondary schools. With 15 practical workshops and two essential keynote sessions, the event will give you access to tried and tested approaches and the chance to discuss and hone your own work to tackle the consequences of disadvantage in school.
The expert-led workshops will focus on ideas, interventions and strategies that have been road-tested and can be easily implemented in your classrooms, schools, and trusts. The opening keynote will dive into the educational research about what works to diminish the impact of poverty, while our second keynote will look at how oracy teaching can help to close achievement gaps.
Workshop themes this year include proven teaching strategies, breaking down barriers to school attendance, improving year 6 outcomes, destination-led approaches, a focus on maths outcomes, improving literacy outcomes, safeguarding advice, effective use of teaching assistants and many more.
