Description

Recent skills surveys and job market trends indicate that academic knowledge alone is no longer enough to succeed in today’s workplace. Success stories from universities that have adopted real-world learning as a core component of their programmes demonstrate that institutions need to reimagine traditional curriculum models to meet modern demands.

Experiential learning addresses skills gaps by applying classroom knowledge to real-world contexts, expanding students’ perspectives and developing critical competencies. This approach enables institutions to not only align graduate outcomes with employer and societal needs but also boost students’ motivation, confidence and resilience in a changing world.

This webinar, held in partnership between Times Higher Education and PebblePad, will feature a panel of experts from US higher education to discuss how universities can embed real-world learning at scale to create job-ready graduates.

Topics for discussion will include:
• Mapping learning experiences to in-demand skills and workforce needs
• Strategies for integrating real-world and practical experiences into course design
• The importance of institution-wide collaboration in facilitating experiential learning
• Establishing a rubric to track student experiences and milestones throughout their journey
• Aligning experiential learning with lifelong learning to increase access and support diverse cohorts.
