Event Details
Description
Data Protection Officers (DPO) are now at the forefront of understanding, managing and advising on data protection issues within their organisation. They must often carry out this role with limited support and technical guidance.
This online training course has been specifically designed to help delegates manage their increased workload and responsibilities and will provide an overview of recent data protection legislation.
Take away tools and techniques to manage data breaches, and understand how best to carry out data protection impact assessments, leaving the day with a toolkit to help better perform duties as a DPO.
There will be plenty of opportune moments for networking, sharing resources and experiences with other delegates - gain valuable contacts with other like-minded peers to create that invaluable DPO support network. Virtual breakout rooms are available that facilitate smaller working groups, allowing delegates to gain a much better understanding of their role as a DPO.
Learning outcomes will include:
• Ensure the DPO role complies with the latest data protection legislation
• Confidently communicate data protection advice to senior management
• Managing and reducing personal data breaches
• Carrying out a data protection impact assessment
• Design and take back a DPO toolkit.
Key learning resources and information will be instantly distributed online on the day.
Chaired by Lynn Wyeth, Information Governance Manager, Leicester City Council, this course will be using Zoom to deliver the day and key learning resources and information will be instantly distributed online on the day.
