Brexit has dominated the headlines for months now, but not usually in the education trade publications. But, Schools Week has just run a story highlighting how Brexit could affect schools – and it makes for worrying reading for governors.
There are the obvious effects – lots of MFL teachers and assistants are European nationals and losing them/reducing access to this pool of teachers will make recruiting MFL teachers much more difficult. But there are others too: European funding will be lost, recruiting outside the EU will become much more expensive and resources will be much more expensive as companies hike up prices.
We would like to discuss how you think Brexit might affect your school:
• What are the challenges? • Do you see any opportunities? • Have you felt effects like these already? • How are you preparing for Brexit?
