A project funded by the Nuffield Foundation is helping young children to make more progress in maths.
The ONE project, developed by researchers at the University of Oxford will now be evaluated at a larger scale by the Education Endowment Foundation to further test its impact.
Results from the initial study suggest that pre-schoolers who took part in the programme made more progress with their early maths learning than other children. The findings also indicate that disadvantaged children benefitted more.
