In this video, headteacher Leah Hadfield shares how she put evidence into practice to improve children’s communication and language in her nursery setting.
Drawing from what we know about effective implementation and the Communication and Language strand of the Early Years Evidence Store, this video highlights a multi-step approach to change: identifying key priorities and defining the problem that needed solving took time.
In the video, Leah also offers practical advice for setting leaders who are considering implementing evidence informed strategies in their settings.
The aim of these new EEF ‘Eyes on the Early Years’ videos is to capture and share the live ‘knowledge and understanding’ of early educators. They provide an opportunity to step into a setting, hear about the challenges and see the journey of change with open, honest discussion focused on educators’ knowledge of the evidence, understanding of pedagogy and their own setting. We hope these videos are supportive and offer opportunities to share practice.
