People working in early years are struggling with an increased workload, which is impacting their stress levels, a new survey of the sector has found.
The survey of 1,500 early years educators found that more than a third (39 per cent) felt their workload had increased in the past year, and half (49 per cent) reported that their workload had caused them ‘frequent stress’ in the past year. For a further 11 per cent, work caused ‘constant stress’.
More than a fifth (22 per cent) reported that they frequently found they had too much work.
The survey, carried out by online learning journal and management system, Tapestry, covered workload, ratios, professional support and community, and the perception of early years education.
