Applications have opened for the next round of the Department for Education’s childminder mentor programme, designed to support practitioners to mitigate the pandemic’s impact on young children.
The Childminder Mentor Programme, which is being delivered by Hempsall’s early years consultancy and funded by the DfE, is free and open to applications from all childminders in England currently providing care to at least one child of up to five-years old. Applications are currently open for those wishing to take part in the autumn term.
Participants will receive guidance from early years practitioners with at least three years of experience as childminders or supporting childminders. Most sessions will be run online.
Hempsall’s is managing the recruitment of experienced practitioners, who will be chosen as area leads and mentors, before being matched with childminders seeking support.
