Primary school workers had to take hot water to a family’s house as they had no way of heating their newborn baby’s bottles.
Staff at E-ACT Blackley Academy in Manchester told how they came to the rescue of one of their families, explaining that the cost of living crisis was making things harder.
James Hughes, the head teacher, told the Manchester Evening News: “We had a family with no gas, no money and a brand new baby who needed feeding. We had to take some hot urns from school so they could warm the baby’s bottles. They were waiting for social services to help but had no money on their meter.
