Adele Jarrett-Kerr is on her first coffee of the day when her home-educated six-year old Delilah wanders downstairs and says, sleepily: “What are we doing today?” While mum sorts her toast, Delilah draws a to-do list for the morning, a set of symbols signifying: “Art Hub for Kids, gardening, brush the cat, build a den.” Jarrett-Kerr adds, “listen to Mummy read” to the list, and thinks of how different Delilah’s morning would be were she in school.
