With a new term starting for schools across the UK, it’s the perfect time to make sure that classes are as equipped as they can be for building positive attitudes towards maths. Having good associations with maths helps to keep pupils engaged and learning – and research shows that children as young as 6 can experience maths anxiety – so it’s vital to support pupils from the very beginning.

So, I spoke to our resident teacher-turned-training-officer Beth Barnes, and our Parental Engagement Programme Manager Anna Purcell, to produce these tips to help you get your school feeling maths-positive!
