Success for All (SFA) is an approach designed to help high-poverty elementary schools increase students’ reading success. A meta-analysis by Cheung and colleagues reviewed findings of SFA evaluations conducted over the past 33 years to figure out the average impact of SFA on students.
Seventeen studies were reviewed, with a mean effect size of +0.24 (p < .05) on independent measures. Effects were largest for low achievers (ES= +0.54, p < .01). Although outcomes vary across studies, results from this meta-analysis recognized the effectiveness of SFA for the reading success of disadvantaged students and low achievers.
