The SNP has made a costly commitment to extend free school meals to high schools despite its failure to meet the existing pledge to feed every primary pupil.
Delegates at the SNP conference in Aberdeen praised the Scottish government’s “renewed commitment” to provide free school meals in every year of primary school after it broke its previous promise.
