Funding for free school meals for 4-7 year olds has been slashed by more than £35m in real terms amid soaring inflation, new analysis of official figures shows.
The Goverment has increased funding per pupil by just 4p since the policy was introduced seven years ago by the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition, from £2.30 to £2.34 – an increase of 1.3 per cent.
