Explores the post-secondary school education and labour market outcomes of children in need, including those looked-after and on child protection plans.
This research was commissioned by the independent children’s social care review.
It uses longitudinal education outcomes (LEO) data to analyse over 620,000 individuals who took their GCSEs in 2010 to 2011. The analysis compares the outcomes of all individuals to those who were:
- on child in need and other plans
- on child protection plans
- in care (children looked after)
