College graduates will boost the Scottish economy by £52 billion over their working lives, according to an economic analysis that has prompted renewed calls to secure the sector’s financial future.
A nationwide network of 24 colleges educates thousands of students every year in areas such as information technology, care, hospitality, skilled trades and the creative industries.
A report by the Fraser of Allander Institute (FAI) in Glasgow has concluded that those graduates will boost Scotland’s economy by £52 billion over their anticipated 40-year working lives.
