More children are choosing to spend their work experience week on Scotland’s sporting estates, where they can try salmon fishing, see golden eagles and sample venison.

The pupils are being given the chance to experience life on the estates as part of a drive to reduce rural depopulation and tackle the skills gap.

Lianne MacLennan, national co-ordinator of Scotland’s Regional Moorland Groups, said the activities were fun but had a serious aim.
