Tomorrow (Wednesday) all 127 teachers at Richmond upon Thames College will be forced to sign up to a punitive new contract of employment that will see them lose eight days holiday, the University and College Union (UCU) revealed today (Tuesday).
Any teacher who refuses to do so will be sacked the following day (Thursday 1 September 2022).
The implementation of the punitive contract comes after UCU recently suspended strike action in good faith in an attempt to facilitate a resolution through industrial conciliation service ACAS. The ACAS talks did not lead to a resolution of the dispute leaving staff with the 'sign or sack' ultimatum.
