The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) has welcomed the new Prime Minster and his ministerial appointments. The work-based learning trade body has urged the new ministers to renew the government’s focus on boosting skills.

As incoming government ministers take up their posts, AELP believes there are a number of key issues facing the skills system that need to be urgent action. This includes the impact rising costs are having, as well as issues around recruiting and retaining staff. Proposed government changes to qualifications plus funding and accountability reforms are also causing concern across the skills sector.
