Following the Government’s publication of a prospectus programme for its Pioneer science research plans, Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, said:
“It’s high time these negotiations began and we are pleased that this will now happen. They should be concluded with urgency, in the interests of good science.
“We hope that an agreement will be made quickly, but in case that proves impossible, it is prudent to prepare alternative ways for the UK to continue high quality international research collaboration.
“For these reasons we welcome the publication of the Pioneer proposal as a fallback. Our committee will have a hearing on Horizon at its first meeting after Easter on 19 April.”
