University of Cambridge students who started their degrees during the pandemic could graduate late this summer because of a marking boycott by academics.
Universities including Edinburgh and Cambridge are struggling to cope with industrial action over pay and conditions by staff at 145 institutions.
Cambridge said it could not rule out some students graduating later than usual, and in Edinburgh undergraduates have been told that their dissertations may not be marked.
The boycott by University and College Union (UCU) members started on April 20 and some universities have told participating staff they will withhold all or half of their pay. Academics are, in some cases, refusing to notify institutions if they are participating in the action.
